The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will soon release the answer key of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024). After this, NEET PG Result 2024 for 2,28,540 candidates will be announced along with the cut-off percentile for admission to MD, MS, and PG medical courses. The NEET PG answer key challenge window will also be hosted on the official website natboard.edu.in.
When was the exam held?
NBEMS had conducted NEET PG 2024 in two shifts at 416 centres across 170 cities. The exam was held on August 11 after several allegations of paper leak and postponement. The board recently clarified that the normalization process followed by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi (AIIMS New Delhi) for its various exams will be adopted for NEET PG result declaration.
NEET PG cut-off trend
In December 2023, the Union Health Ministry informed that 247 PG medical seats remain vacant after the conclusion of counseling. Citing the rising number of vacant seats, NEET PG aspirants and doctor groups demanded the NMC to reduce the NEET PG cut-off percentile by 10-15 marks. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) requested to reduce the cut-off percentile by 30% to fill seats for both clinical and non-clinical courses. However, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on September 20 approved the NMC's recommendation to "zero" the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 across all categories. Below is last year's NEET PG cut-off before it was zeroed.
Category | Minimum Qualifying | Cutoff |
General/EWS | 50 percentile | 291 |
General-PwBD | 45 percentile | 274 |
SC, ST, OBC(PwBD of SC, ST, OBC) | 40 percentile | 257 |
