Recently, the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha, on which the opposition parties created a lot of ruckus. After this, the Waqf Bill was sent to the JPC committee of the Parliament. It is believed that after a detailed discussion on this bill, it can be introduced again in the Parliament. Meanwhile, in the press conference of Miyat Ulema-e-Hind and All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Thursday, Maulana Arshad Madani has claimed that two important allies of the Modi government, Telugu Desam Party and JDU President Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar have said that they will oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill.
We will oppose the bill- Madani
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board held a press conference on Thursday regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill. The press conference was addressed by Maulana Arshad Madani and Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani. They said that we would democratically oppose the bill, and if needed, a national-level protest would be held, and we would oppose it. Madani said that we have not received any call for JPC but we have prepared a document that where and how we are suffering losses. We will ask for its withdrawal, if we are called to JPC, we will go.
Naidu and Nitish will protest- Madani
Arshad Madani has said that secular parties had said in their manifesto that people of all religions will have religious freedom, it is clear from this that they are with us. We have met Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, and Tejaswi Yadav, and they have said that they will oppose it. Arshad Madani further said that Uddhav Thackeray and many other leaders have also given statements against the Waqf Bill.
