The Assam government is now in favor of taking strict action against those who leak the paper in the examination. Today, the Assam government introduced the Assam Public Examination (Measures to Prevent Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024 on the floor of the Assembly to ensure transparency and fairness in public recruitment examinations. The Chief Minister's Office gave this information.
Provision of 10 years imprisonment and fine up to Rs 10 crore
The Chief Minister's Office said on social media X that the act prohibits malpractice, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to Rs 10 crore, and candidates found guilty may also be barred from appearing in future exams. The CMO said in a post on X that the law strengthens Assam's commitment to merit-based recruitment in government jobs.
This exam is to be held on 15th September.
For information, let us tell you that on September 8, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma held a meeting with District Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to discuss the smooth execution of the ADRE 2024 examination for Grade III and IV category posts scheduled from September 15, 2024.
Instructions to implement strict security measures
During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed on the vital need for a transparent and merit-based examination process and directed every District Commissioner to implement measures for a smooth examination process, which also includes personal inspection of examination centers to ensure necessary facilities.
He directed the SP to enforce strict security measures around these centers. The Chief Minister also called for strict monitoring of social media to deal with any attempt by mischievous elements to undermine the sanctity of the examination.
