On This Day: November 19 is just a date for common people but for Indian cricket fans, this day is no less than a shock. A year ago on this day, when crores of fans were cheering for the 11 players playing the final against Australia for the country and were preparing for celebration by preparing firecrackers at home with the hope of victory, then the Australian cricket team broke the dreams of Indian fans and won the glittering trophy by winning the ODI World Cup 2023 final held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The entire tournament was no less than a dream for the Indian cricket team. India did not lose a single match from the beginning till the final and came out on a winning note to face five-time champion Australia. India was hopeful of winning but Australia read the conditions very well and taking advantage of the situation, first put pressure on the Indian batsmen and later on the bowlers, due to which India's dream of winning the World Cup for the third time was shattered.

Talking about the match, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Kangaroos gave India three big blows in the first 11 overs. After this, Kohli and KL Rahul made a great partnership. Virat Kohli was looking in great rhythm but Pat Cummins bowled a brilliant ball and got him out for 54 runs. After this, the whole ground suddenly became quiet. KL Rahul also struggled but could not do anything special due to which the Indian team was able to score only 240 runs.

Travis Head snatched the match from India

Australia's team, which came out to chase the target, suffered 3 big setbacks in the beginning but later Travis Head played the best innings of his career and scored a century. Marnus Labuschagne also supported him well. Both of them brought the match far away from India and finally gave the team victory.
