Anti online gaming campaign: The official website of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union minister Vijay Goel, who has been vocal about the need for a nationwide ban on online gaming, was hacked. The incident came shortly after Goel launched a public campaign against the rapidly growing online gaming industry. The campaign highlighted its potential dangers and demanded strict regulations.

Goyal during a press briefing on Wednesday expressed his concerns about the rise in online gaming and claimed it has led to widespread financial distress.

'We will lodge a complaint with the police regarding the hacking of the website'

Goyal argued that the government should impose online gaming similar to the existing restrictions on lotteries to protect vulnerable individuals and families.Just hours after his statement against online gaming, Goyal's official website was hacked. The BJP leader said he will file a police complaint regarding the hacking of his official website. He urged the public to join the protest being organised at Jantar Mantar on November 16, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of online gaming and demand organized monitoring by the government.
