New Delhi: Even on Tuesday, India conveyed its intense condolence regarding the loss of lives and property due to the earthquake that occurred in Tibet. The estimates state about hundred and more than hundred and thirty had lost their lives during the quake and about even more had suffered severe injuries.

India, in its message of concern did not mention any reference to their adjacent country China, who have been actively involved in rescuing Tibet. Chinese president Xi Jinping, in a message said that, we all are charged with the task of ensuring for the injured and sick due respect, Xi noted.

“The Government and People of India stand together in grief and in condolences regarding the tragic loss of life and property due to the earthquake in the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Our thoughts with the victims and their families and our prayers are with them,” Said, the external affairs ministry spokesman while posting on x, Randhir Jaiswal.

1,000 homes were lost in this incident

Throughout the day previously, China’s state owned Xinhua news agency reported that an earthquake in Dingri, Tibet Autonomous Region, left 95 dead and over 130 injured. Moreover, around 1,000 houses were destroyed in the vicinity of Tsogo township which was the epicenter of the earthquake. Other than Tibet, some regions in India also experienced tremors, however, no loss of life or assets was reported in those regions.

Last year, a reconciliation was reached between India and China after a prolonged period of tensions and conflicts which led to the resolution of a Skirmish that occurred in the Ladakh region. Nevertheless, last week, India raised its concern regarding the intention of China to construct a mega dam on the Brahmaputra River in Tibet and on the Ladakhi IIS area. Moreover, New Delhi further requested greater transparency and discussion on the issue.
