PAK vs AUS : Pakistan cricket team's white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten has announced his resignation from his post. His contract as Pakistan's white ball coach was for 2 years, which ended in just 6 months. It is being said that the reason for his resignation is his differences with the board.

According to reports, former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten had disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the selection and announcement of the team for the upcoming series against Australia and Zimbabwe. This rift grew further when the PCB reportedly did not pay heed to Gary Kirsten's suggestions regarding the team, due to which he decided to step down from the post of head coach.

Sources told IANS, "PCB had adopted the same approach when its new selection committee refused to allow Test coach Jason Gillespie and captain Shan Masood to be involved in the team selection. Jason Gillespie did not like the attitude of the selection committee. On the other hand, Gary Kirsten has taken a different route and announced his resignation."

Former South African left-handed batsman Gary Kirsten was appointed Pakistan's white-ball coach on a two-year contract in April 2024. However, the Pakistan team's poor performance in the T20 World Cup campaign had raised serious questions over his appointment.

Sources say that former Pakistan cricketer Aqib Javed can be made the coach in place of Kirsten for some time. Gary Kirsten will not be with the team on the Australia tour and is expected to return to his coaching duties around the world with many franchises. It is clear from Gary Kirsten's resignation that he will no longer be with the team on the Australia tour. In such a situation, the big question is who will be Pakistan's next white ball coach?
