PM Internship Scheme 2024: The registration process for the scheme started on 12 October 2024, more than 90 thousand internship opportunities are available in 24 sectors on the portal. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced this scheme while presenting the budget for 2024. ( PM Internship Scheme Kya Hai ) The objective of the scheme is to provide employment opportunities to about 1 crore youth in the next five years.

The scheme aims to address youth unemployment and provide these youth with training and connect them with companies looking for talent.

Leading private companies such as Jubilant Foodworks, Maruti Suzuki India, L&T, Muthoot Finance a, and Reliance Industries are among the 193 companies that have posted internship opportunities on the platform.

The internships are available across 24 sectors and over 20 areas, including operations management, production, maintenance, and, sales. The initiative has also received support from sectors such as oil, gas, energy, travel and hospitality, automotive , and banking.

The portal makes it accessible to those seeking internships in various sectors through tools like Aadhaar-based registration and biodata generation. The scheme aims to provide over 1.2 lakh internships in 737 districts across 28 states and 8 union territories in the current financial year. Apart from this, top companies are also offering positions that can help boost employment.

According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which is managing the scheme, this is a transformational initiative of the government to ensure the tell of the youth, which will enhance their employability.

PM Internship Scheme Stipend

The youth selected for the scheme will get an opportunity to do an internship in top the 500 companies of India for one year and will also get an allowance of Rs 5,000 per month and a one-time grant of Rs 6,000.

To apply for the scheme, candidates must have passed high school or higher secondary school and should have a certificate from ITI or diploma dipdiplomafromapolytechnicc institute. Apart from this, one must be a graduate with a degree like BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, B Pharma etc.
