New Delhi: India's number one pickleball player Armaan Bhatia has reached the final of the men's singles event on the first day of the PWR DUPR India Masters 2024, which started on Thursday, 24 October at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium. 16 Indian players participated in the first round of the men's singles event, out of which 9 managed to reach the second round. After this, 5 players Aryan Bhatia, Amol Ramchandani, Armaan Bhatia, Aditya Ruhela, and Join Patel reached the quarter-finals but only Armaan Bhatia could reach the semi-finals. Armaan kept India's hopes of winning the title alive and entered the final where he will face first seed Dusty Boyer. The final match of the men's singles event will be played on October 27.

Aryan and Amol were defeated in the quarter-finals

In the first quarter-final match of men's singles, India's Aryan Bhatia was defeated by world number one player Dusty Boyer of America by 4-11, 11-6, 11-3. After falling behind in the first set, Boyer was successful in winning the match. In the second quarter-final, India's Amol Ramchandani had to face defeat against Australia's Tom Evans by 9-11, 0-11, 4-11.

In the third quarter-final match, India's number one and number two pickleball players Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela faced each other. In this match, Armaan Bhatia made a great comeback after trailing 0-8 in the first set and won 11-10. After this, he won the remaining two sets 11-9, and 11-5, and entered the semi-finals. In the fourth quarter-final, Willy Chug of Chinese Taipei defeated Joyin Patel 11-8, 11-7, and entered the semi-finals.

Arman Bhatia, the only Indian to reach the semi-finals, faced Willy Chug of Chinese Taipei in the second semi-final. He won this match 2-0 and entered the final. The final match will be played on October 27 at 5 pm. Here Arman Bhatia will face American player Dusty Boyer, who won the first semi-final. He defeated Australia's Tom Evans 2-1 in the semi-final match.
