India Wraps Pakistan in UNGA : India slammed Pakistan on the issue of terrorism in the United Nations General Assembly, saying that its fingerprints are on terrorist incidents across the world. It should know very well that if cross-border terrorism continues against India, it will have to face certain consequences. In response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in his address in the general debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, India on Friday gave a strong message to the neighboring country in the United Nations General Assembly.

Pakistan exposed to terrorism.

Bhavika Mangalanandan, First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the UN, said, "This gathering witnessed a travesty this morning. A military-run country, with a global reputation for terrorism, drug trafficking, and international crime, dares to attack the world's largest democracy. As the world knows, Pakistan has long used cross-border terrorism as a weapon against its neighbors. It has attacked our Parliament, our financial capital Mumbai, markets and pilgrimage routes," Mangalanandan said, referring to the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist groups.

The list is long. For such a country to speak about violence anywhere is the worst kind of hypocrisy.

Shahbaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue.

He said, as expected, Shehbaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue in his address and said that to ensure durable peace, India should abrogate Article 370 and engage in dialogue for a peaceful resolution of the issue. He said India has rejected Pakistan's proposals for a mutual strategic restraint arrangement. In this context, while responding to some proposals for strategic restraint, India stressed that there can be no compromise with terrorism. In fact, Pakistan should realize that cross-border terrorism against India will have consequences.

Pakistan hosted Osama bin Laden.

Reminding the international community that Pakistan is a country that hosted Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden for a long time, Mangalanandan said Pakistan's fingerprints are on many terrorist incidents around the world. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that its Prime Minister would speak like this in this hallowed hall. Yet we must make clear how unacceptable his words are to all of us. We know Pakistan would seek to counter the truth with more lies. Repetition will not change anything, our stand is clear and does not need to be repeated.

Reminded of the 1971 massacre

"The real truth is that Pakistan covets our territory and has consistently used terrorism to disrupt elections in Jammu and Kashmir, an inseparable and integral part of India. It is laughable that a country that committed genocide in 1971 and continues to oppress its minorities dares to speak about intolerance and fear. The world can see for itself what Pakistan really is," the young Indian diplomat said.
