Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has attacked the Modi government by claiming a new tax slab. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government is preparing to increase GST on essential items , which will put a huge burden on the common people. His party will oppose this plan of the government.

Rahul Gandhi's claim on GST

Rahul Gandhi posted on social media and said that look at another example of concessions to capitalists and looting of common people. On one hand, income tax is continuously increasing in comparison to corporate tax. On the other hand, the Modi government is preparing to collect more through the Gabbar Singh Tax.

Claiming new tax slab

Rahul Gandhi said- "It is being heard that amidst the ever-increasing collection from GST, the government is going to introduce a new tax slab - there is a plan to increase GST on the things you need. Just think - right now, the wedding season is going on. People must have been saving money by saving every penny and in the meantime the government is going to increase the GST on clothes above ₹ 1500 from 12% to 18%. This is a grave injustice - the hard-earned money of poor and middle-class families is being looted through taxes to give tax exemptions to billionaires and waive off their biggest loans.

Congress will oppose

Rahul Gandhi further said that our fight is against this injustice. We will strongly raise ourvoicese against the burden of taxes on the common people and will put pressure on the government to stop this loot.
