According to the Vatican, Pope Francis recently fell in his residence and hurt his right forearm but did not fracture any bones and carried on with his activities for the day. The photo of the pope's meetings on Thursday morning shows, the Pope attending with his right forearm encased in a cloth sling tied around his neck.

As defined above, these marks are not new to Francis as they were sustained during a fall in December. So now, there are only six weeks in between his falls.

“Today, as a result of a fall at the Santa Marta house, Pope Francis suffered a moderate pain in his right forearm, but without any fractures. The procedure immobilized the arm as a precaution,” said the statement.

Pope Francis has suffered from severe knee and back pain which has got him using a wheelchair or cane to move, amounting to him appearing less mobile, especially after turning 88 in December, although he had been moving less since being elected head of the 1.4 billion-member Catholic Church in 2013.

The Pim of the Vatikanica says that the reason for his last fall which took place last month was because he fell while getting off the side of his bed and his chin hit the table of his bedside.

Francis has been afflicted with the flu and other illnesses several times in a span of two years. In 2021, he went through neck surgery for severe case of diverticulitis. Similarly, he had right up hernia surgery in 2023.

An assistant of Francis read one of the most important speeches to a group of diplomats affected by a cold.

Indicating in his autobiography, which was released on Tuesday, that no sign was showing or any resignation would happen as he would not follow the steps of his predecessor Gregory the 16th concerning replacement: “There have always been fears regarding my health but there is nothing unusual, even the significant writing to the chair,” remarked the bishop. According to Catholics, governing a Church involves both brain and emotions. “I am fine.”
