Jaipur is set to host the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET)-2024, organized by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), on Thursday and Friday. With all necessary arrangements in place, the exam will witness the participation of over 2.7 lakh candidates across 233 examination centers in the city.

The exam will be conducted in two shifts on Thursday and one shift on Friday. On Thursday, a total of 1,78,950 candidates will appear for both shifts, while 91,068 candidates will take the exam on Friday. Given this massive turnout, Jaipur is expected to see a surge in candidates, with railway stations and bus stands already experiencing heavy rush since Wednesday night.

Tight Security and Extensive Arrangements

To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, the administration has deployed:

  • 48 Rajasthan Tehsildar Service officers as zonal supervisors
  • 1 area officer per 10 centers
  • 1 zonal officer per 5 centers
  • 11,500 teachers as invigilators

Candidates have been advised to arrive early and plan their travel accordingly to avoid last-minute delays.

Strict Protocols and Legal Measures

District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has instructed officials to strictly adhere to examination protocols. Any negligence or absence from duty will result in disciplinary action.

To maintain transparency and integrity, authorities have invoked the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. As per the law:

  • A three-year prison term and a fine of ₹1 lakh will be imposed for malpractice.
  • In serious cases, offenders could face up to 10 years in jail, extendable to life imprisonment, with fines ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹10 crore.
  • Non-payment of fines can lead to additional imprisonment, and guilty individuals may also have their property confiscated.

Exam Timings and Control Room Setup

According to Nodal Officer Gopal Singh Shekhawat, the exam is scheduled in three shifts:

  • Thursday (Level I - Class 1 to 5): 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM (87,413 candidates)
