LoP Or Leader Of Paryatan?: The Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) on Monday criticised Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for visiting Vietnam to welcome the New Year just days after the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and said he insulted and misbehaved with the late Congress leader.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala told ANI, “When the country is mourning the demise of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi has gone abroad to welcome the New Year, while the country has been mourning for seven days. Congress does not care about Dr Manmohan Singh. They insulted and abused him during his lifetime. They are doing so even now. Nobody went to collect his ashes yesterday. Congress even refused to give Bharat Ratna to Dr Manmohan Singh. This is their real face.”

The Congress today clarified that party leaders did not accompany the family during the immersion of ashes as they wanted to provide privacy to the leader's grieving relatives.

BJP leader called Rahul Gandhi "leader of tourism"

The BJP leader called Rahul Gandhi a "leader of paryatan (tourism)". He said, "Rahul Gandhi has changed the meaning of opposition leader from opposition leader to tourism leader and party leader. At a time when the country is mourning the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi is out for 'tourism' and party, according to media reports... Rahul Gandhi and 'tourism' is nothing new. At a time when 26/11 attack happened in Mumbai, he was partying all night. He is not concerned about the death of Dr. Manmohan Singh.
