“Despite the interjecting thoughts reverberating in my head about constantly encourage and assuring myself ‘You can’t stop, no matter what happens because it is in your willpower to lose weight.’ But I did try just as I have always tried and lost weight during obstacles after losing it figuring out through those motivational moments and never letting myself lose hope,” Ruchi exclaims.

The Start Of All Motivation

Devoting the narrative to Ruchi’s perspective, after her c section she incurred heavy and intense surgery that made it downright impossible to pick and hold the baby due to devastating pain in the back and cervical: This was the personal conflict that instigated Ruchi.

However, in addition to her efforts, she also had to endure some negative commentary directed towards her. She continues to say “Even family and friends used to tease me and call me names with regards to my weight. Clothes that were loose on me no longer fit, so even though I adored getting dressed up, I couldn’t. My husband one day said, ‘Size badhaane ka nahi, chhota karna hoga.’(Which translates to, ‘To get better, we need to reduce our size!) I treated that phrase as a sudden awakening and resolution to my problem.”

It’s been 6 months since she weighed 105 kg and now weighs 72.

She is still a long way from achieving her target goal, but she is certainly tenacious about it. At the onset of her weight loss journey, she expressed “The hardest part was striking the right equilibrium – managing the house, taking care of my child, and prioritising myself. The scales sometimes tend to not move and that is quite nerve-wracking. I found it difficult to stop eating some of my favorite foods but fortunately, I remained determined to achieve what I aspired to.”

No Exercise? No Problem!

When it comes to Ruchi’s journey, one thing stands out: she underwent her transformation without ever exercising. “Due to my C-section, I was not able to do any exercise. What I did do was follow a calorie deficit diet, which helped me lose more than 30 kg,” she explains. Weight loss can be achieved without any exercise as long as one’s diet is on point. In a calorie deficit situation, there is food that needs to be consumed in a way that prevents nutrient deficiency. Therefore, whole nutrient-rich foods, such as, vegetables and fruits, lean meat, healthy oils, and grain products should be included. It is also advisable to limit calories to not dangerously low levels which can cause tiredness and loss of muscles. Water rich and fibre rich meals are necessary as they increase fullness while aiding digestion. Simultaneously, limits on portion sizes should be imposed and progress measured but obsessing with the scale should be avoided.

How Did You Stay Motivated Throughout Your Weight Loss Journey?

This may not come as a surprise, however, staying motivated was not a walk in the park for Ruchi but she had a few tricks that were in her arsenal. “I was very clear about my weight loss goals and that clarity made me keep moving. My husband was my greatest source of motivation and support. He walked with me through this journey, motivating me to do every bit,” she says.

Ruchi’s only motivation for her undoing was the blue print she formulated, “I wanted to engage to a more evolved me, for my baby, and for my family. That goal of mine was my every source of drive.”

What Advice Do You Have For Others Who Are Looking To Embark On A Similar Transformation Journey?

Ruchi’s tale has imparted her with some crucial life lessons, and she is keen on helping those eager to alter the way they live their lives.

“However long will you keep repeating, ”I’ll commence from tomorrow’? Every tomorrow commences today, now is the appropriate time,” she points out. She centers around the single most essential aspect of embarking on that first step regardless of how tiny, and remaining steadfast in your efforts.

Three Months After The Weight Loss

The modifications that ruchi has went through after her crco cut are nothing less than astounding. I feel more confident, Ruchi states, more motivated and more engaged to live in the present. I now hold and rock my baby for as long and in any manner without discomfort. I have gotten rid of my previous health issues and have eased into changing other’s lives as well.”
