Riddhima Kapoor Sahni has addressed the viral speculation surrounding her teenage daughter, Samara, after a clip from Aadar Jain and Alekha Advani’s wedding sparked unnecessary controversy. The video, taken at the Mumbai event, showed Riddhima, Samara, and Neetu Kapoor posing together on the red carpet. However, a brief moment where Samara gestured away from Neetu led some to speculate that she had pushed her grandmother aside.
"She Didn’t Push Her Nani" – Riddhima Clears the Air
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Riddhima dismissed the rumors, calling them a complete misunderstanding.
“The whole thing got blown out of proportion. The poor child was only trying to pose. She wasn’t upset—she was actually very excited! In the car, she kept saying, ‘Oh my God, I’m sure there are going to be photographers, and I’m going to pose like this and that.’ She just wanted to pose on her own. She didn’t push her nani.”
Samara Shocked by Online Speculation
Riddhima also revealed that Samara was surprised by the negative reaction, struggling to understand how a simple gesture was misinterpreted.
“She was like, ‘When did I push her? I was just trying to pose myself. I never pushed anyone!’”
Samara even referenced a previous online incident where her behavior was unfairly judged:
“Last time, I was being goofy, and people had a problem. Now, when I’m just standing still, they again have a problem!”
Navigating Media Pressure in the Kapoor Family
Acknowledging the pressures of growing up in the public eye, Riddhima emphasized the importance of open discussions at home.
“Kids today are more aware of media exposure. My mother and I chat with Samara every single day about it—the pros, cons, good, bad, and ugly—so that it doesn’t affect her.”
Despite the social media scrutiny, Riddhima and Neetu continue to support and guide Samara, ensuring that she remains confident and unaffected by online gossip.
