New Delhi, PTI: The entry-levelState Bank of India (SBI) will recruit 10,000 new employees in the current financial year (2024-25). The bank will make this new recruitment to meet common banking needs and boost its technical capacity. The bank has made significant investments in technology to provide seamless customer service as well as strengthen its digital channel.
SBI Chairman CS Shetty gave information
SBI Chairman CS Shetty said, "We are strengthening our workforce on the technology side as well as the general banking side. We have recently announced the hiring of about 1,500 technology people at the entry level and slightly higher levels." He said, “Technology hiring is also on specialized jobs like data scientists, data architects, network operators, etc. We are hiring them for a variety of jobs on the technology side. So, overall, our current year requirement will be around 8,000 to 10,000 people.”
People will be added on both special and general sides. As of March 2024, the total number of employees of the bank was 2,32,296. Out of this, 1,10,116 officers were working in the bank at the end of the last financial year. As of March 2024, SBI has a network of 22,542 branches across the country.
