Samajwadi Party to quit MVA: After the crushing defeat in the Maharashtra elections, the opposition alliance MVA is in constant trouble. Samajwadi Party has decided to break away from the alliance. Maharashtra SP chief Abu Azmi said that Samajwadi Party will leave the opposition MVA over Shiv Sena's (UBT) stand on the Babri structure demolition.
That's why Abu Azmi got angry.
The Samajwadi Party has two MLAs in Maharashtra. Maharashtra SP unit chief Abu Azmi said, "An advertisement was given by Shiv Sena (Shiv Sena) in a newspaper congratulating those who demolished Babri Masjid. His (Uddhav Thackeray) colleague has also posted on X praising the demolition of the mosque."
Azmi said, we are leaving MVA. I am talking to Akhilesh Yadav. This move of SP has come in response to the post of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Milind Narvekar on the demolition of Babri Masjid. Narvekar had posted a picture of the Babri demolition and also wrote this statement of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, 'I am proud of those who did this.' The Shiv Sena (UBT) secretary also posted pictures of Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, and himself in the post.
Azmi asked, "If someone in the MVA speaks such a language, what is the difference between them and the BJP? Why should we stay with them?"
How much impact will it have on MVA?
The SP's decision has come when yesterday, on 6 December, 1992, the 32nd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya was celebrated. Although the SP's decision will not cause any major setback to the MVA alliance, the time at which it is happening and the reason for it is important. After joining the MVA, Uddhav's tone on Hindutva has become very soft. He is moving ahead on the path of Congress, but his stand on the demolition of the Babri structure remains the same as before. The SP has made this an issue.
In the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won a decisive victory over the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in a one-sided contest. The Mahayuti won 230 out of 288 seats, with the BJP winning 132, Shiv Sena 57 and NCP 41. Meanwhile, the MVA managed to secure only 46 seats, while the Congress won a total of 16 seats.
