Samastipur bridge span collapsed: The series of bridge collapses in Bihar is not coming to an end. In this sequence, a span was built on the bridge a few days ago near Nandani Laguniya railway station in Samastipur. This span broke and fell on Sunday night. After this incident, many questions have been raised about the quality of bridge construction. Meanwhile, the employees and laborers of the construction agency at the site tried to erase the evidence by lighting the lights and burying the debris in the ground with the help of JCB.

Let us tell you that this bridge is a part of the under-construction link road of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's dream project Bakhtiyarpur-Tajpur Ganga Mahasetu. According to the information, it is being constructed by Navayug Engineering Company Limited. Apart from the bridge being built on the Ganga, a 45 km approach road is also to be built here. An amount of Rs 1603 crore was allocated for the construction of the Mahasetu and its link road.

The accident will be investigated

The construction of this bridge connecting Bakhtiyarpur and Tajpur was started in 2011. According to the people present at the spot, the span of the bridge suddenly collapsed with a loud noise. After this incident, the construction work of the bridge has been stopped. There is no report of any casualty in this accident. Local people say that this accident happened due to poor quality material used for construction. At the same time, officials of the construction agency are talking about investigating the cause of this accident.
