Saturday bank holiday: Banks will remain open today on October 5. Usually, banks remain open on the first and third Saturdays of every month and closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. According to the RBI list, banks will remain closed for 15 days in October apart from regular Saturdays and Sundays. This month banks will remain closed on two Saturdays and four Sundays.

October 12 - Dussehra- Banks will remain closed in all states as it is the second Saturday of the month.

October 14 - Durga Puja/'Dassain' - Banks will remain closed in Sikkim.

October 16- Lakshmi Puja- Banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal.

October 17 – Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu: Banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh.

October 31 – Diwali (Deepawali)/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birthday/Narak Chaturdashi – Banks will remain closed in most states except Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya.
