West Bengal School Closed News Today: Due to the low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of a cyclonic storm. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has named this cyclone 'Dana'. There are high chances of this storm moving in the northwest direction. Due to this, winds can blow at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in the coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in these areas. In such a situation, keeping in mind the safety of the students, an order has been issued to keep schools closed in seven districts of West Bengal.

According to the West Bengal government, due to cyclone 'Dana', all schools in South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, East Medinipur, West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, Hooghly, Howrah, and Kolkata have been closed from 23 October to 26 October 2024. However, holidays in schools can also be extended depending on the weather conditions. In such a situation, students and parents are advised to contact the concerned school once.
Odisha School Closed 2024: Schools closed for three days in Odisha
At the same time, the Odisha government has issued an order to keep schools closed for three days in 14 districts of the state. Schools will remain closed from tomorrow i.e. October 23 to October 25 in Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Khurda, Nayagarh and Cuttack districts of the state.
