4 bunkers destroyed, 3 captured

Security forces in Manipur have destroyed four bunkers of gunmen and captured three others in Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts following an encounter last week.A statement issued by the police said the bunkers were destroyed following a massive operation launched in several areas bordering Thamnapokpi and Sansabi villages over the last two days. The firing had erupted after militants hiding in the hills in these areas launched attacks on villages located in the lower regions.

Four people injured

Besides, a joint team of the Army, Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also captured the dominion areas in Uyok Ching in Kangpokpi district. Four people, including a policeman and a woman, were injured in the attacks in Thamnapokpi and Sansabi villages on Friday.
