In the year 2017, a case was registered against Shilpa Shetty in the High Court of Rajasthan under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act. Shilpa Shetty used a casteist word during an interview given in the year 2013. Salman Khan was also with her during this time. After using this word against Shilpa Shetty, a complaint was filed with the police saying that she had hurt the sentiments of the Valmiki community. Now the court has canceled this case.
Now the court has given a big relief to Shilpa Shetty in the case of using the word 'casteist'. Shilpa Shetty had approached the High Court demanding cancellation of the case. According to reports, a person named Ashok Panwar had filed a complaint against Shilpa Shetty and Salman Khan after watching their interview on TV.
He said that the actress had used casteist words, hurting the sentiments of the Valmiki community. After the complaint, an FIR was registered and an investigation was started in this case.
The court admitted that there was no allegation against the petitioner that was worth continuing the complaint. Therefore, the court has quashed the case against Shilpa Shetty. Now Shilpa Shetty as well as her fans have heaved a sigh of relief.
