Dubai: India's young spinner Shreyanka Patil has been nominated for the ICC Women's 'Emerging Cricketer of the Year' award for her outstanding performance in international cricket. The list of nominees includes Shreyanka along with South Africa's Anneri Derksen, Scotland's Saskia Horley and Ireland's Freya Sergeant.

She became the first female player to play in CPL

The 22-year-old offspinner from Karnataka created history by becoming the first Indian to play in the Women's Caribbean Premier League in December 2023 and has since impressed across all formats. Since making her debut in December 2023, she has played 13 T20 matches and taken 15 wickets. She has taken four wickets in two ODIs.

Shreyanka remained a part of the team continuously

This year Shreyanka has been a constant presence in the Indian team. She has also played in bilateral series against Australia, Bangladesh and South Africa. Apart from this, she has also participated in major tournaments like Women's T20 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.
