The Indian stock market closed with a decline today on Wednesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange's index Sensex closed at 80,081 today with a decline of 0.17 percent i.e. 138 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 30 stocks of Sensex, 8 stocks were in the green zone and 22 stocks were in the red zone. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's index Nifty also closed with a decline today. Nifty closed at 24,435 with a decline of 0.15 percent i.e. 36.60 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 50 stocks of Nifty, 18 stocks were in the green zone and 32 stocks were in the red zone.

These stocks fell

The biggest losers in the Nifty pack on Wednesday were Mahindra & Mahindra, down 3.22 percent, Sun Pharma, down 2.69 percent, Eicher Motors, down 2.07 percent, Shriram Finance, down 1.86 percent and Power Grid, down 1.84 percent. Bajaj Finance, up 4.90 per cent, Tech Mahindra, up 2.14 per cent, Tata Consumer, up 1.78 per cent, Bajaj Auto, up 1.75 per cent and HDFC Bank, up 1.26 per cent.

Status of sectoral indices

Talking about sectoral indices, the biggest decline today was recorded in Nifty Pharma by 1.56 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Midsmall Healthcare fell by 0.82 percent, Nifty Oil and Gas by 0.27 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 1.40 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.06 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.28 percent, Nifty Metal by 0.25 percent, Nifty Auto by 0.71 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.04 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Financial Services rose by 0.22 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.16 percent, Nifty IT by 2.38 percent, Nifty Media by 0.33 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.45 percent and Nifty Consumer Durables by 0.07 percent.
