Stock Market Holiday Today 01 January 2025: According to the official calendar released by BSE and NSE India, the Indian stock market will remain open on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. No trading holiday has been declared by the stock markets on the first day of the new year 2025. All segments including equity, derivatives and SLB will remain open. Although the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain open for the morning session on New Year's Day, it will close at 5 pm for the evening session.

The Indian stock markets, as well as the currency derivatives, commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments will be open for trading on Wednesday. The equity segment of the markets is open on weekdays, except Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays declared in advance by the exchange. New Year's Day or January 1, 2025 are not included in the list of trading holidays, according to the stock market holiday calendar. Pre-open trading will begin at 9:00 am and will continue till 9:15 pm. Regular stock market trading will begin at 9:15 am and close at 3:30 pm.

According to the NSE and BSE holiday calendar, the markets will observe 14 trading holidays in the upcoming calendar year. The next trading holiday will be on Wednesday, February 26, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. It is also important to note that Republic Day on January 26 will fall on Sunday. Sunday is a weekly holiday. The last holiday of 2025 will also be on December 25 for Christmas. Diwali Muhurat trading will be held on Tuesday, October 21. NSE and BSE will notify the trading timings of Muhurat trading later.
