According to an official statement, a state-specific plan has been implemented to curb stubble-burning incidents on the directions of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

According to the statement, the initiative provides financial assistance to farmers for crop residue management while setting a target of zero cases of stubble burning for panchayats.

However, the statement said that strict action has been taken against those who violate the law. It said that cases have also been registered against 192 farmers for burning stubble.
