Doctor Shares Picture of Healthy Liver and a Weekend Drinker's Liver: Recently, a liver specialist has shared a post on social media, which is becoming viral very fast. The doctor's name is Cyriac AB Phillips. People online know him as 'The Liver Doc'. He is a social media enthusiast who often shares important information about the harmful effects of alcohol consumption. Now he has posted a shocking photo from his Instagram handle. In which he has tried to show the big difference between two livers. He has shared a photo of the liver of a regular drinker and a non-drinker. You may be surprised by the difference between the two.
A healthy liver is pink whereas a person who drinks alcohol has a liver like this.
The doctor shared the photo and said that the black and spotted liver belongs to a 32-year-old man who used to drink alcohol once a week, while the other healthy and pink donor liver belongs to his wife. The wife donated her liver to her husband so that he could live to see his little daughter grow up. In the picture, the wife's liver looks pink and healthy, which is in stark contrast to the liver of the drinker, which looks black and covered with spots.
People's reaction to the viral photo
Let us tell you that this post is becoming increasingly viral on social media. People are also making various comments on it. One person wrote, "Looking at the organ, it seems that he was lying with his family and doctors, looking at it, it seems that he used to drink alcohol throughout the week." The doctor replied, “You did not understand, keep feeding your confirmation bias. Sometimes experience is a great teacher.”
While another person wrote, "Alcohol is a poison. Your liver works overtime to process it, and when you binge drink - even if it's 'just on the weekend' - you've drunk too much. Over time, this leads to fatty liver, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and eventually liver failure. And what? By the time you feel symptoms, it's too late. This guy didn't just wake up one day with a bad liver. He slowly eliminated it over years, one drink at a time, probably telling himself, 'It's not that bad.'"
A third commented: "This picture should be on every wine bottle." A fourth added: "I drink wine twice a month and now I'm so scared."
