Mumbai: There is a threat of terrorist attack in the country's financial capital Mumbai. An alert has been issued by the intelligence agencies in this regard, after which Mumbai Police has increased the security of the city. Officials said that input has been issued regarding religious places and crowded areas, so special security arrangements have been made at these places.

Police said that we have been instructed by central agencies to conduct "mock drills" at crowded places and religious places. All DCPs of the city have been asked to pay special attention to security arrangements in their respective zones. An officer said that on Friday the police conducted a mock drill in the Crawford Market area. This is an area where there is a huge crowd. There are also two major religious places here.

Special alert regarding temples

The police officially said that it was a security exercise, but did not explain why such an exercise was being conducted suddenly. The police further said that mock drills are being conducted in Crawford Market and other places in Mumbai given the upcoming festivals and elections. Sources said that all temples in the city have been instructed to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as a precautionary measure.
