Keshav Prasad Maurya vs Akhilesh Yadav : Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya took a dig at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance's spectacular performance in the assembly by-elections, claiming that the SP is unlikely to come to power until 2047. In the counting of votes for the by-elections held on nine assembly seats in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance won seven seats and the SP won two seats.
BJP gave a crushing defeat to Akhilesh's SP in the by-election
In the by-elections held on nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party (SP) won Sisamau and Karhal seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won Ghaziabad, Khair, Phulpur, Majhawan, Katehari and Kundarki. BJP's ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) won the Meerapur seat.
Akhilesh was accused of misleading backward and Dalits.
Referring to SP's slogan PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority), Keshav Maurya wrote on 'X' on Sunday, 'SP's fake PDA (Family Development Agency) collapsed in the by-elections. Those who claimed victory on nine seats are now unable to tell the count.' He accused the SP of misleading the backward and Dalits by allying with BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) in Lok Sabha in 2019 and Congress in 2024, but the public rejected the SP outright.
Deputy CM Maurya, claiming victory in Karhal and Sisamau in the future, said, 'From Karhal to Sisamau, SP's strongholds will also fall and BJP's lotus of good governance will bloom.' Maurya said, 'In 2027, we will repeat 2017 and once again write a new chapter with the target of crossing 300. If we are united, we are safe! Under Modi ji's leadership, the country is safe and development is also safe.'
He said, 'Akhilesh ji, forget about 2027, wait till 2047, even then there is no hope of SP coming to power.' During the campaign for the by-elections, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had claimed that SP would win all the nine seats and BJP would be wiped out from Uttar Pradesh in 2027.
