UPI Payment: According to the information given by the Finance Ministry on Saturday, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has achieved more than 15,547 crore transactions worth Rs 223 lakh crore from January to November this year. The Finance Ministry shared data related to UPI regarding the revolution of digital payments through a post from its official X handle. UPI was launched in 2016 by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With UPI, online payment facility is available by integrating multiple bank accounts in a single mobile application.

Another record made before this

Earlier, the Finance Ministry had informed that transactions through UPI on Rupee Credit Cards in the first 7 months of FY 2025 have almost doubled as compared to the same period of FY 2024. More than 750 million UPI Rupee Credit Card transactions amounting to Rs 63,825.8 crore were done from April to October this year. At the same time, in FY 2024, the number of transactions from UPI Rupee Credit Card was 362.8 million, with a total value of Rs 33,439.24 crore.

Rupay Credit Card UPI

The facility of UPI transactions on RuPay credit card was launched by the government in September 2022. Users using RuPay credit card can do their transactions through the card with the help of UPI app. Earlier, the government had also released data for October and November regarding the success of UPI. After reaching a record high of 16.58 billion transactions and a value of Rs 23.50 lakh crore in October 2024, the number of UPI transactions in November stood at 15.48 billion, up 38 per cent year-on-year, with a value of Rs 21.55 lakh crore, up 24 per cent year-on-year.
