The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken an innovative initiative for the overall educational development of children studying in the council schools of the state. The aim of the government is not only to empower the children educationally, but also to develop awareness and a sense of pride in them towards Indian history, culture, and heritage. For this, 15,000 children have been selected from all 75 districts of the state and are being taken on a one-day educational tour of the historical places of the state. Under this program, 200 children from each district have been included in it, who mainly belong to poor and economically backward families of rural and urban council schools.
Yogi government is bearing the entire cost of the tour.
The Yogi government is spending Rs 75 lakh under this scheme, which includes the cost of fare for the children's travel, arrangements for breakfast and food, and budgetary provision for emergencies. Its purpose is to give practical and historical information to the children apart from their general educational curriculum, so that they not only see Indian heritage and historical sites but also understand their importance and get inspired by them.
The journey has begun, and full attention is paid to the safety and security of children.
This educational tour started on 24th September and is being organized with the safety of children as the top priority. One teacher has been assigned to accompany every group of 20 children, who will ensure their safety as well as provide them with information about historical sites during the tour. 10 teachers from each district have been included in this tour program. These teachers have also been given the responsibility to make the children aware of the history, culture, and heritage of India during the tour. Apart from this, the District Basic Education Officer and the concerned officials of each district have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring and smooth functioning of this scheme so that the children do not face any kind of problem during the tour. All administrative and security-related measures have been taken to provide necessary information and support to the children apart from safety and security during the tour.
Message of patriotism along with personality development
The main objective of this initiative of the Yogi government is to provide children with educational experiences in the real world outside their curriculum. Also, an important aspect of this scheme is to introduce children to the rich heritage and glorious history of India. During the tour, children will be taken to various historical sites, monuments, and museums, where they will be given detailed information about the importance of those sites, the circumstances at the time of their construction, and the historical facts related to them. This will not only arouse interest in history among children but will also strengthen the feeling of patriotism and nationalism in them.
