There are many crazy things which people want to accomplish in their life, yet an individual’s goal on her list is making the world chatter. Filming herself biting into a live octopus for her objective in Toronto, has stirred the online community. While members of the community are labeling it animal cruelty, other members of the community have a more pragmatic approach.
A background video posted on Instagram by tinatriesfood shows her enjoying live octopus at a restaurant during her Toronto visit. One can see there tiny pieces of octopus in the video which are still alive and moving while being eaten. The woman shared the video with the caption: “I’ve always wanted to have octopus but was never able to and now thanks to this restaurant in Toronto, I don’t have to go all the way to Korea!"
She added: "It’s mixed with sesame oil and sesame seeds and we also got sweet chili sauce as a dip." She added, “But don’t be in it because they may be able to relocate if feeling adventurous, give it a try." It’s important to remember that it’s more about the experience than the flavor.” “As far as the flavor goes, it’s important to note that the octopus isn’t much stronger in flavor, it’s more on the chewy and gummy side.”
The video received over 300,000 likes and 7000 comments and recently gained new attention and opinions on the internet, despite being initially published months ago. However, it appears to have gone viral.
A user remarked, 'Are you kidding me? This is animal cruelty'. Another echoed, ‘This entity is not alive, so when the person is dead, the nerves remain, and it moves. I’m a teen, and I know this,’.
A user mused, ‘Just think of animals eating a live human’. And some funny retorted, ‘Bro, just eat it when it’s jiggling in your body’.
This post is still causing controversy, as it proves once again that some people are willing to ‘face the despair’ in order to share such a footage.
