Preparations to expand health services in the state
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that strengthening and expanding health services in Madhya Pradesh is the top priority of the state government. In this sequence, the groundbreaking ceremony of the medical college is going to take place on November 21. Keeping in view the requirements of Simhastha-2028, the project will be completed on priority. This will enable high-quality medical services to be provided to the patients of Ujjain and surrounding districts.
The CM said that till 2003, there were only five government medical colleges in the state, which have now increased to 17. MBBS seats in the state have also increased from 720 to 2,575. Along with medical colleges under construction in Sheopur, Singrauli, Mandla, and Rajgarh, medical colleges are being established with self-financing grants in Chhatarpur, Damoh, and Budhni. Along with this, the process of opening medical colleges is going on in 12 other districts under the public participation policy.
There will be an increase in MBBS seats.
The Chief Minister said that the establishment of 20 new medical colleges will increase MBBS seats by more than 2,000. Along with increasing the hospital bed capacity to 2,500 in Bhopal and Gwalior, super-specialty hospitals are being operated in Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, and Rewa. He said that schemes like the School of Excellence in Pulmonary Medicine in Jabalpur and the School of Excellence for Eye in Indore are making the state a leader in the medical field. CM Yadav said that nursing colleges are being established in 14 medical colleges to promote nursing and paramedical education. At present, 24 government nursing colleges are operating, which will soon become 37.
