The BJP party got the red flag on Aam Aadmi Party President Arvind Kejriwal’s statements during an election rally held in Vishwas Nagar, Delhi on Monday. While painting a picture of the opposition party during an election campaign, Kejriwal managed to say, “I wish to advise the jhopadpatti Baasi when they do not love you, but adores your votes; the Ramayan clearly mentions that Bhojpuri people keep house in jhopdis, and after the election they will capture your land and seize it. A day Ram Wala packed for zamana into a forest to conjure food when his was taking a stroll across the Sita Mata was set in a shack. Ravan came using the form of a golden deer – Sita’s request towards Laxman was ‘this dear looking a lot appealing to me so I wish to own it’. Approaching the modesty, Ravan snatched Sita and absconded, this is how these BJP folks resemble that deer they shall not get caught in their game.”

According to Ramayana, it was Marichi commissioned by Ravan who transformed into a gold-colored deer to tempt Sita.

The response from the BJP was extremely negative to what Kejriwal said. Delhi BJP President said, “Arvind Kejriwal has attempted to twist Ramayana and disgrace our religion, not for the first time. They are aethestic people... Yesterday they claimed that the demon was in the form of a golden deer, but the gold...... Today we have come here to say ‘forgive us’ for we have committed the blasphemy of misquoting the Ramayana and conducting a fast today.”.

Criticism did not stop here, it went proceded to social media. Delhi Assembly’s opposition captioned Kejriwal’s remarks as `strange’ on his X (Previously Twitter Account) . “Heard the bizarre knowledge of Farjiwal who pretends to visit temples, while running around the elections, Om Ramayana… While Mata Sita was taken away by Ravana in the form of a golden deer, Ramachandra went deep in the forest to search for food. Kejriwal Ji, it’s shameful how this man makes fun with Sanatan. How do you worst the world class model of education in Delhi, but do not understand the very basics of Ramayana?” Shaurya Dholakia, who was predominantly on support of AAP during the elections, stated.

As a result of the criticism, BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari also added that Kejriwal is a Selfie Hindu, and that he does not truly grasps the concept of Ramayana.
