Bengaluru. India B's team faltered badly in the first match of Duleep Trophy which started on Thursday. All the batsmen selected in this team proved to be flops. The 5 batsmen of the middle order of the team could not even touch the double-digit mark and lost 7 wickets for just 94 runs. Young batsman Mushir Khan (105*) who came at number 3 was the only one standing at one end. But no one was ready to support him.
In the end, he got a good support from fast bowler Navdeep Saini, who came in at number 9, and remained unbeaten on 29 runs till the end of the day's play and both the batsmen did not let the team suffered a new setback for more than a session. At the time of stumps, India B returned with 202 runs for 7 wickets.
**HUNDRED FOR #MUSHEER KHAN…!!!**
What a remarkable knock from the 19-year-old! Against the odds and the Big Boys, India B were struggling at 94 for 7, but #MusheerKhan turned the game around with an unbelievable century. A debut to remember at Chinnaswamy! ????#SarfarazKhan… pic.twitter.com/R007jbA1cS

Young Mushir Khan hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in his aggressive innings of 227 balls. Domestic cricket's run machine Sarfaraz Khan was expected to score runs in this match but he could only score 9 runs in 35 balls, which included only one four. Apart from him, Rishabh Pant, who was playing in the red ball format after a long time, came in at number 5. But he could not extend his innings for more than 10 balls here.
He scored 7 runs with the help of a four. Sarfraz may have flopped but his brother Musheer did not disappoint the fans and scored a century to help his team cross the 200-run mark after it looked to be crumbling at a low score.
19-year-old Musheer pulled the team out of trouble by making a 108-run partnership for the 8th wicket with Navdeep Saini. At one point, India B had lost seven wickets for 94 runs. Musheer came on the field after Abhimanyu Easwaran's wicket fell in the 14th over. Easwaran hit Avesh Khan's ball that was going outside the off stump and wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel took a brilliant catch by diving.
Musheer, who was playing the Duleep Trophy for the first time, handled the bounce of the wicket very well and played with patience. He also hit two sixes on Tanush Kotian. Musheer was given a lifeline by Avesh on his own ball when he was on 69.
Mushir, who performed brilliantly in the Under 19 World Cup and Ranji season, completed his century by taking a run off Kuldeep Yadav. Earlier, Pant, who was playing his first red ball match after December 2022, made an irresponsible shot and got caught by Shubman Gill off Akash Deep. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 30 runs in 59 balls but he returned after getting caught by Shashvat Kumar off Khalil Ahmed.
