Ravichandran Ashwin Retirement : Experienced bowler Ravichandran Ashwin is going to play a key role in Team India's bowling attack in the Test series to be played against Bangladesh. Before this series, 37-year-old Ashwin has also made a big statement about his retirement. Ashwin, who is still an important player in India's Test team, has clarified that he will retire only when he does not have the desire to improve his game.

Speaking ahead of India's home Test series against Bangladesh, Ashwin revealed that he has not set a specific deadline for retirement. Instead, his decision will depend on his personal motivation and performance.

Ashwin said this about retirement.

During a conversation with Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, when Ashwin was asked if he could be expected to play till 40, he said, "There is nothing like that on my mind. I only think about one day at a time, because when you get older, you have to put in extra effort every day. It is not the same. I have put in a lot of effort in the last 3-4 years. I have not decided (to retire), but the day I feel I don't want to improve, I will quit the game. That's it."

Ashwin is India's second-most successful bowler.

Despite approaching 40, Ashwin remains highly motivated. He said his daily effort and passion for the game drives his performance. Ashwin is ranked at the top of the ICC Test bowler rankings and will play a key role in India's upcoming five-Test home series, starting with two matches against Bangladesh followed by three against New Zealand. With 516 wickets in 100 Tests, he is India's second-highest wicket-taker in the format, behind only Anil Kumble, who has 619 wickets.
