
World Students' Day 2024 Date Theme Importance Theme: World Student's Day (World Student's Day 2024) is celebrated on 15 October on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President, scientist, and teacher of the country, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. World Student Day theme
The celebration of World Student Day started in the year 2010 on the 79th birthday of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. On this day, programs, seminars, workshops, and lectures are organized in schools and colleges to inspire students. The purpose of this special day is to remember the great contribution of Kalam Sahab and highlight the importance of education. Every year this day is celebrated with a new theme. The theme of World Student Day 2024 is 'Holistic Education for the Future of Students'. Its purpose is to emphasize the overall development of students by not limiting education to only academic achievements.
Life of Dr. Kalam
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His father's name was Jainulabdeen and his mother's name was Ashiamma. Dr. Kalam was the youngest of his five siblings. Talking about education, after completing schooling in Rameswaram, he obtained a science degree from St. Joseph's College, Trichy in 1954. Then in 1957, he studied aeronautical engineering from Madras Institute of Technology.
Contribution to the field of education
Dr Kalam served as the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister and Secretary of DRDO from 1992 to 1999. Dr Kalam also served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He resumed the teaching profession the very next day after completing his term as President. He visited many schools and colleges and met students. He always encouraged students to dream big and pursue a career in science and technology.
