Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the opposition over their criticism of the Maha Kumbh, comparing their attitude to that of pigs and vultures.

“Vultures got dead bodies. Pigs got filth... whereas sensitive people got a beautiful picture of relationships, traders got business, and devotees got clean arrangements.”

His remark implied that people perceive the grand congregation through their own biases, choosing to either see its spiritual significance or focus on negativity.

"Secular Scholars Are Silent on Hajj Mishaps"

Adityanath also called out "so-called secular scholars" for their selective outrage, accusing them of ignoring tragedies during Hajj while criticizing Maha Kumbh’s grandeur.

“These so-called secular scholars remain silent over hundreds of deaths during Hajj due to mismanagement, but they are the first to criticize Maha Kumbh. Despite their attempts to tarnish the event, millions of devotees took the holy dip, proving them wrong.”

His remarks come in the wake of a recent stampede at Maha Kumbh, which led to opposition questioning the event’s crowd management and safety protocols.

Faith Prevails Despite Stampede Concerns

Addressing concerns about the stampede, Adityanath highlighted the unwavering devotion of pilgrims:

"Even after the unfortunate incident, faith and enthusiasm prevailed. Braving hardships, devotees reached Prayagraj, took the holy dip, and returned with joy."

The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, has attracted millions of pilgrims, reinforcing its deep-rooted spiritual and cultural significance.

Attack on Samajwadi Party: "They Played with Religious Sentiments"

Taking a direct swipe at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its leader Akhilesh Yadav, Adityanath accused the previous government of neglecting Kumbh arrangements.

"We did not play with people's religious sentiments like the Samajwadi Party. Their CM didn’t even have time to monitor Kumbh preparations. Instead, he appointed a non-Sanatani to oversee the event."

His remarks hinted at Akhilesh Yadav’s administration, alleging that under SP rule, Kumbh arrangements were poorly handled.

Political Firestorm Over Maha Kumbh

Adityanath’s strong words have ignited a fresh political debate, with the opposition likely to counter his claims. While the BJP government presents the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural pride, critics argue that public safety and efficient management should be the priority.

As the political battle heats up, Maha Kumbh 2025 remains both a spiritual spectacle and a political flashpoint in Uttar Pradesh.
