Yogi government has now come forward to help Dalit student Atul Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, get admission to IIT Dhanbad. Under the state scholarship scheme, the Social Welfare Department will bear the entire fee of IIT through scholarship, so that Atul's education can be ensured.

Atul Kumar, son of Rajendra Kumar, a daily wage laborer from Titoda village in Khatauli tehsil of Muzaffarnagar district, had his admission to IIT Dhanbad stalled due to non-payment of fees. Atul had performed well in the IIT JEE exam and secured a seat in the Electronics Engineering branch, but his admission was stalled due to non-payment of fees by June 24.

The family, after exhausting all efforts, approached the Supreme Court. After the Supreme Court's intervention and the matter coming to the notice of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government decided to provide full support to the student. The Chief Minister immediately gave instructions to ensure all possible help for Atul.

Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun spoke to the student's family over the phone and assured them that the state government would provide financial assistance for the student's entire education. Also, the Yogi government has also contacted IIT Dhanbad and taken the necessary steps to complete the admission process.

Under this initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, not only will the initial fees of student Atul be paid, but the fees for the entire four years of study will also be paid through scholarship. With this decision, the state government has made it clear that students from economically weaker and deprived sections will not be allowed to face any obstacle in getting higher education according to their talent.
