8 railway stations in Uttar Pradesh have been renamed. These stations to be renamed belong to the Lucknow division. Fursatganj will now be known as Tapeshwar Dham. A press release said that the competent authority has given its approval to change the names of 8 stations in the Lucknow division of Northern Railway.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has attacked the BJP government over changing the names of stations. Akhilesh Yadav said, "I urge the BJP government to change not just the names of railway stations but also their conditions. ... And when you get free time from changing names, take some time out to think about preventing record-breaking rail accidents.
